Our Environmental Commitment

“The future will be green, or not at all. This truth lies at the heart of humankind’s most pressing challenge: to learn to live in harmony with the Earth on a genuinely sustainable basis.”

~Sir Jonathon Porritt, British environmentalist and author

Law firms are known for generating and storing huge piles of papers. The Meehle Law Firm is committed to changing the way we practice law in order to follow the best practices promulgated by the American Bar Association-U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (ABA-EPA) Law Office Climate Change Challenge.

Increasingly, our clients are going green themselves, and they want to work with green partners. As an integral part of your business team, we are following in your footsteps.

First, we have a policy of limiting paper consumption. We communicate with our clients electronically, implementing security measures so that we can safely transmit documents via the Internet. We only print what is necessary to print, maintaining electronic practice management and document management systems. Additionally, we recycle as much paper as we can. We also remove ourselves from junk mail lists to limit the amount of paper that we receive through the mail.

We are telecommuters, driving to work only when it is necessary to meet a client at their place of business. By taking our cars off the road during peak commute times, our firm reduces its carbon footprint exponentially.

We are green in our homes, limiting our consumption of bottled water, using environmentally safe cleaning products and limiting our use of disposable products. We recycle as much trash as possible, including composting paper, food scraps, yard waste and other organic matter.

Finally, we donate money to environmental organizations such as Oceana, support conservation through political action, and volunteer our time to help local environmental efforts.

Going green is a day-to-day effort to live sustainably. We encourage our friends, colleagues and clients to join us in this challenge.
