Orlando attorney Suzanne Meehle joins Solo Practice University™ as a monthly columnist. Suzanne joins a stellar roster of monthly columnists which includes Deborah Bruce, Rachel Rodgers and Jack Whittington.

Suzanne Meehle has had a very typical but not often discussed journey in her legal career.  She is a second career lawyer who went right from law school to Big Law for her first three years. Central Florida attorney Suzanne Meehle is pleased to announce the formation of a new law firm, The Meehle Law Firm. The Meehle Law Firm is dedicated to serving the needs of entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses and business owners. Areas of practice include: incorporation; partnership and limited liability company formation; contract drafting, including asset purchases, non-competes and non-disclosures, and employment agreements, among others; and intellectual property protection and litigation in the areas of trademarks and copyrights.

The Meehle Law Firm is a virtual law firm, providing most of its services online through a client web portal. It’s physical office is located in Ms. Meehle’s home. “I find that it does not make sense to pay rent for a brick and mortar location when almost all of my clients prefer that I come to them,” Suzanne says. “I outsource a conference room when I need one, but most face-to-face visits are at the client’s place of business.” The Meehle Law Firm offers most of its legal services on a flat-fee or retainer basis, without regard to billable hours. Suzanne says, “Most small businesses need to be able to predict and budget for their legal costs. The Meehle Law Firm is pleased to offer its new subscription-based services to its clients. A subscription is a way for a small business to lower its overall cost for legal services by putting its lawyer on-call and on-demand for a package of most-requested services.

The subscription packages are tailored to various types of business entities and stages of growth – from start-up to growing business. Each package provides the client with the forms, documents and services needed during a typical year of operation. Start-up packages are more expensive than maintenance packages since more legal work is generally required during the first year of business.

Happy Thanksgiving! Welcome to the new firm and to my new site! Look around, make yourself comfortable.

You might notice that there is a “client login” option over there on the right. I have built a client portal here that will allow my clients to access and edit  their documents, view and pay their bill, and contact me securely. I am waiting for a few of my service providers to come online (such as my phone and fax lines, and my credit card processing) so that I can link everything up and take it live. But it is built, and that’s key.

You might also have noticed that my branding and text on the website is very similar to that of my old firm, Innes & Meehle. That’s because I still practice law the same way: providing reliable, efficient legal services to small businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups. I still believe in litigation avoidance, strong branding, and keeping costs low and your fees reasonable.

You may also have noticed a lot of “Us” and “We” language on here. The reason for that is twofold: first, “lawyer taking care of (small) business” does not sound nearly as good in the singular as the plural; and second, because I plan to grow my firm. I’m not sure when, but that’s the intent. Â I assure you there is no “Royal We” around The Meehle Law Firm.
