Davey Jay to Be a Panelist for Cosmic Film Festival

Attorney Davey Jay will be a speaker on two panels at the inaugural Cosmic Film Festival this February 18 & 19, 2017 at Caribe Royale 8101 World Center Dr, Orlando, 32821.

The Cosmic Film Festival celebrates women in film and innovative filmmakers from around the world. Ms. Jay will participate as a panelist in discussions revolving around the legal aspects of filmmaking.

At the panel discussion entitled “The Legal Business of Filmmaking,” independent filmmakers will include the basics and absolute legal essentials for making their film. Topics discussed will include: forming a production company; investment contracts; contracts with producers, cast, crew & writers; product placement agreements; licensing agreements of intellectual property and more.

At the “The Art of Distribution” panel, attendees will learn about the important aspects of getting distribution for their feature film that can determine their future as a filmmaker, and the planning and paths that a filmmaker can take towards obtaining distribution. Topics discussed will include: when to get distribution; film festivals & distribution; domestic and international distribution; and types of distribution deals.
